Chapter Director

Michael Ruzicki
Director@npmbalt.org
Originally from central New Jersey, Michael grew up in a Polish-American parish (St. Mary of Ostrabrama, South River) and was active in their music and liturgy program throughout high school.  While studying religion, art and drama at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC, Michael was very involved in the Office of Campus Ministry. He developed a music ministry retreat program that brought college students to parishes with large elderly populations.  By the time he graduated, students from five different universities were joining their ministry in service to the hosting parish community.  It was at Catholic University and his work as a student leader of music ministry and liturgy, he decided to answer the call of working in the Church as a full-time lay minister.
Michael began his work on the Pastoral Staff at Resurrection of our Lord Parish in Laurel, MD in August of 2003. Currently, he is the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy and Music, enveloping all of the liturgical volunteer ministers in a variety of areas- including Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, Lectors, Hospitality Ministers and the Environment Committee.   Having recently completed coursework in the Pastoral Spanish program at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Michael also participates in the Spanish-speaking/singing ministry at his parish.
In addition to his ministry in the Church, Michael enjoys the time spent with his family, whether home in New Jersey or here in the area. In his free time, he continues to use his background in digital art as a creative outlet for relaxation and dances the polka with the rest of the Ruzicki family.

Beth Pugliese

Beth D. Pugliese, resident of Hanover, PA, Minister of Music at Our Lady of Grace, Parkton since July 2005.  After 2 years of ministry at Our Lady of Grace, I now feel confident and ready in reaching out beyond parish boundaries for enrichment, prayer and sustenance in gathering with colleagues. With 23 years of ministry, I bring not only parish experience, but experience of helping to start another chapter, serving on the Diocesan Liturgy Commission which encompassed planning liturgies, music and workshops.  As Animator of Koinonia, I hope to bring social events and varied prayer experiences that we as ministers need to refresh our bodies, spirit and ministry. If you know me, you know that my personality thrives on being with people!

Carolyn Weglein began playing organ while a student at St. Mary of the Assumption school in Govans.  She continued in music ministry as organist/music director at St. Pius X for 37 years.  Currently she is the youth choir director at St. Isaac Jogues and enjoys freelancing as a substitute organist/pianist for many parishes in the Baltimore Archdiocese.  She believes that the NPM Baltimore chapter provides wonderful opportunities for prayer, education, and socializing with other music ministers, who often serve in isolated situations.
