Dr. Stephen Lay
Church of the Resurrection, Ellicott City

Happy the Poor in Spirit, Psalm 146 (.pdf file)
A note from Stephen Lay...
The text is taken from the Lectionary and corresponds to the 4th Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A. If anyone is still searching for a setting please feel free to use this one. I suggest you repeat the refrain each time since it is so short. Use the refrain as the introduction, let the cantor intone it and have the choir sing parts with the congregation.

Call Us Forth
(.pdf file)
for the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians
and their 2007 annual retreat at Resurrection of Our Lord in Laurel, Maryland

Contact Stephen Lay for accompaniment, permission and comments.

Ps. 24: Your Words, O Lord (.pdf file)
Ps. 144: The Hand of the Lord (.pdf file)
Ps. 146: Praise the Lord my Soul (.pdf file)
Prayer to St. Michael (.pdf file)

A note from Mike O'Donnell...
Sound files (MP3, playable on Windows Media Player) for three of these files (Ps 144 & 146, St. Michael) are available by sending an e-mail to
mike8odonnell@comcast.net. I will try to get the two Psalm 24 songs recorded in the near future. Please note the following:
--They are somewhat large. Ps. 146 is about 6 mb, 144 is 4, and St. Michael is 3/4. A high-speed Internet connect is probably advisable.
--Because these were not professionally recorded, you may have to turn the volume up on your computer.
--All files are from my computer are checked on uploading with Norton Internet Security, for which virus protection is updated daily.
Please provide feedback to me at the above e-mail address.
